Stefania Barca is an internationally renowned historian and political ecologist, author of Forces of Reproduction (Cambridge U.P. 2020) and of Workers of the Earth (Pluto, 2024). She is a promoter of the Care Income campaign and founder of the Just Transition and Care network. She is a Distinguished Researcher at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain), where she teaches Environmental and Gender History. Previously, she was the 4th Zennstrom Profesor in Climate Change Leadership at the University of Uppsala (Sweden) and a Senior Researcher at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Her research focuses on the gender dimension of the planetary crisis, historically and at present, and strives to contribute to an internationalist working-class ecopolitics.
